The Resplendent Quetzal

Rhinoceros beetle

Also known as the elephant beetle, the rhinoceros beetle is one of the most impressive bugs found in Costa Rica. Completely harmless, the rhinoceros beetle can be found in many national parks of Costa Rica.

Red Eyed Tree Frog

One of the most iconic amphibians found in Costa Rica is the red eyed tree frog. The red eyed tree frogs use their eyes to scare their predators and use their skin color to blend with their environment. These nocturnal creatures can be found sleeping under leaves during the day.

Jesus Christ Lizard

Found in the Osuna Peninsula, the Jesus Christ lizard can be seen running on the water while hunting for their prey. They feed on small rodents, snakes even other lizards.

White-Faced Capuchin

The white-faced Capuchin can be found in most parts of Costa Rica and are no strangers to tourists as they can even be seen hanging around many hotels. They are very social and live in groups of 20 or more.
